Holiday + WCMSB 2011

I arrived at KL on the 20th afternoon and went for cell group with my aunt. It was quite fun, making new friends and all. I met another ex sjs student who is currently working with Western Digital. The world is just too small. Haha.. Well, the following day, I rested at home, went to gym, walked around my aunt's condominium.
I just feel too lazy to do anything that day. At night, my aunt showed me a Taiwan drama, "The Fierce Wife". I got addicted to that drama after that.

Following day, I went out with Anthony. We went around Lowyat area, over to Pavilion. Went to Sephora and yeah, here we are...

After that, I spent my day at VI school, observing how their members rehearse and all. They just learn their movement 4 that afternoon. And yeah, I went dinner with Harisman and Syed at the mamak stall we used to hang out years ago during the Kuala Lumpur World Marching Band Competition. I was at VI school till midnight, and yeah, I went back. Their band continued to rehearse till 3-4am.

On Saturday, I met up with CheeWei. Went for brunch then I followed her to her church. The pastor is quite a good joker. Haha.. After that, I followed her back to her hostel because she needs to pack her stuff up and guess what, I saw this awesome BM signboard outside her hostel. BM + English. Awesome!

Headed to her rented place, University Tower and I get to play with her stethoscope and listened to my own heartbeat for the first time. lol. We went to One Utama for a walk after that and ate some A&W for dinner/supper. I went back home and continue watching drama with my aunt after that.

Sunday, I went breakfast with my aunt and then went to church to meet Melvin, my junior in high school. It has been a few years I didn't see him. Haha..

After church, I went dinner with my aunt, steamboat. Not bad, the place was full! I went to toilet and found another awesome BM. "Jirus" means "Sprinkle"! Not flush.. LOL..

Monday, I went over to VI school, and observe some other bands rehearsing. I was quite lucky, I managed to observe another 2 bands from Canada, rehearsing at VI field. Here are some pictures I took..

Went for lunch with Harisman and then I went to Time Square for a walk since the opening ceremony of the World Championship of Marching Show Bands, the street parade, was held at Bukit Bintang area. Pavilion to be exact. I met up with Christy for dinner and went for the parade together.

On Tuesday I was so tired. As a result, I decided to stay at home. I slept till noon and went to Old Town at the ground floor of the condominium for lunch and at the same time, was watching Xmen 2 there. lol. After that, I went to gym and walked around the condominium. At night, I went for dinner with my aunt at One Utama. The following day, I went and met Anthony at KL sentral. We drove to LCCT to pick up Avery. He went to KL for an interview with Sony company. Then we went to Lowyat again to look at those devices since Avery wanted to look for an Ipad.

In the evening, we went for the World Championship of Marching Show Bands Preliminary Round 1. Avery was like bored in the beginning and at the end, the last band, from Indonesia, he was like stunned and said, "wow, this band is not bad". LOL.

After the competition, we went to Strawberry Cafe for dinner. Right after dinner, we went to the back for Papparich for supper, ICE KACANG. Goodness, the cendol is just too good. I can't finish it. We headed back to Avery's hotel, Armada Hotel and guess what, a lambo!

Next day, I went to Midvalley to shop for my family and met up Avery after his interview. We went for Nandos. He didn't want to go till he meets Christy. lol. Christy came and an hour after that, Siaw Yie came. We went for the Preliminary Round 2 together.

The next day, I didn't want to wake my aunt up early in the morning, I decided to walk down to grab a cab. I was a little late for the Drum Battle. However, I managed to watch part of Round 1, Round 2, QuarterFinals, SemiFinals and Finals! BatteryHeadz from Malaysia won the Drum Battle and MB Gita Surosowan from Indonesia was the runner up.

I went to the Stadium after that, meeting up with JooLung and help out St Columba. I was impressed. They actually improved a lot since the last time I met them when I was at Miri. They managed to grab the bronze medal. Congratualations St. Columba Marching Band. Apart from that, VI band also improved heaps from Monday, the last time I saw them. They're just so good that makes me wanting to watch them more.

Christy and I followed Shan Jie back home. We went for supper before heading back home. We went to Muni at SS2. Their Mee Raja is just too good. I want to try that again if I have the chance. The next day, I followed my aunt and Ruth to Midvalley for breakfast. I had Chee Cheung Fan but it doesn't look like the one in Kuching. I was told that Kuching one is the one from Taiwan. Haha.. Then, my aunt brought me for a quick shop. Got myself a new pair of shoe and some formal clothings. Thanks to my aunt.

I met up with Esther after that and my aunt sent us to Sunway Pyramid to meet up with the rest. Joo Lung, Esther, CheeWei and I went for a bite at some chinese restaurant which I can't remember the name. After that Esther, CheeWei and I went for ice skating together with Anthony and Rachel. Before we left Sunway, we had a photo session together.

CheeWei and I sent Esther back to Midvalley to meet up with her sister. It has been 7 years we didn't get to see Esther. Since Avant Garde Concert 2004? Haha. Nice meet Esther. After that, I went over to CheeWei's place, she changed, put her car at her place and off we went to the stadium using cab and train. We met Uncle and family at stadium.

Sunday, I went to Mom's place at Damansara for lunch with my aunt and her friends. After that I rested at home while my aunt went to style her hair and I followed Ruth to church. After church, I went dinner with my aunt and her church friends. Pastor Sean who is my senior in SJS, who is also my friend's brother, went as well. Haha. After dinner, I went to KL sentral and met up with Joo Lung and Harisman. We went to meet Shamsul at the mamak stall nearby VI school.

After that, we went and picked up Christy and then met up with Zamy, a thailand coach for a drink. They went to a club while Christy and I went opposite, to a restaurant for dinner. She hasn't take her dinner yet. So yea, we talked till 1am and Harisman sent us all home. Thanks to Harisman.

Thanks so much to all my friends at KL. I didn't have a hard time trying to catch the cab to go home late at night. It's hard to go home since I'm staying at Damansara and there's no train station nearby. Thanks buddies!

Graduated!

Finally, I've graduated! After 4 years.. Haha.. Now while waiting for convocation, I'll rest for 2-3 months. Will be heading to KL on the 20th July for the World Championship of Marching Show Bands, WCMSB 2011. This year, SJS will take a rest and prepare for 2012 events and championships.. ;)

Mid Break~

I survived the first 6 weeks of class, presentation, test, assignments, reports, responsibilities and all! This week is our mid-break holidays for undergraduates. At least I get to sleep at least 8 hours a day today. Previously, I could only get to lie on the bed for 4 hours a day? That's my average sleeping time during the semester.

I don't even have the time to go for badminton. Am going to play tomorrow night! xD Badminton Tournament in uni soon. It's my final semester in uni. Should i join?? Will I have the time??

Another 6 weeks, we're done with degree! I can't wait to have my-at-least 2 months holiday. What's next?? Yet to decide.

Busy Weekend

4 major tasks juggling my breathe last weekend and it ends today. Fuhh~~

My final semester started last week and this week is already, to the end, means week 2 is partially gone. 10 weeks left and I'm done with degree. What's next? I'll decide in June/July. I really need a break. From the last semester (commenced in August '10), after final exam, I went for my practical training at some mechanical and electrical consultant firm till this 11th March, then I continue my final semester 21st February till today. I still survive! :D

Workload just never stop - which is good to keep myself busy. ;)

I saw this part time job by NSTP (New Straits Times Press) on blackboard, and I think I can manage it. I took up the offer. Interviewers are supposed to do 30 surveys (max) about reading habits and newspaper preferences among Sarawak newspaper readers and each survey will be paid RM 17. First thing in my mind was, I think it worth more than doing traffic studies survey where each survey conducted was only paid RM 3. LOL..

Friday last week, I had class from 8.30am - 10.30am and 2.30pm - 4.30pm. So after my brunch, I headed over to the Federal Government building and did some surveys. I only managed to do 4/8 surveys and 1 of them got rejected because the reader didn't read any malay newspaper.

One of the supervisors, a lady, gave me another 4 more survey forms and asked me to complete them the following day. I had band practice from 9am - 12pm and 2pm - 5pm. Trying to squeeze some time out for interviewing, and I managed to complete 6/8 surveys. I headed back to the office, and the lady wanted to cut my interview quota (means my pay will be cut!) because I couldn't finish all the survey. I said, "No! I promise you, I'll finish how many survey forms you assign me for tomorrow. I have no programs on Sunday. I can assure you I'll finish it. I didn't finish it today because I had band training. Do you know Victoria Institution Band? I'm training St. Joseph Band here." So, I'm assigned to handle 9 survey forms on Sunday. :D

I finished the survey at 3pm on Sunday! (all the 9 surveys) ;) Don't look down on me. When I say I can, I definitely can! I headed back to the office then and she actually left Kuching the same day too. Another supervisor of mine, gave me another 12 for Monday. I didn't have any class till 4.30pm.

I went to my practical training office in the morning because my boss wanted to see me. He handed me a cheque for February. I didn't want to accept it because he was already very nice, gave all the trainees a 9 days break for Chinese New Year. In addition, I get to go to class on the first week of the semester and also few days off to go to uni to do my final year project during the holiday. He said, "Nevermind, just accept it as a token. You've done a lot too. You don't have to come back to work. It's very hectic and busy day for you if you attend class then come to work and so on. Just concentrate on your final year project and your studies. Hopefully, we'll see each other again. Make sure you know what you want to do in the future. All the best." :D Thanks boss! I can concentrate on my uni stuff! :D

I did my surveys around Satok area and I managed to finish 9/12 surveys by 3pm that day and headed to office to let my supervisor check because I had a class at 4.30pm. I had 3 more to complete a total of 30 surveys. He asked me whether I can complete another 2 more (Extra) because one of the interviewers was a slacker. She completed only 15/30 surveys. I took the challenge up and today, I was paid 32 surveys (RM 544) ^^,

What a busy weekend. Am gonna treat mom a dinner and give her the money I've earned this weekend as her birthday is coming up on Thursday! xD Happy Birthday MOM!!

Killed two tasks in a weekend. I rested very well in the evening today and after tonight, I am going to really focus on my studies and also my final year project! Another 10 weeks, I'm done with uni!! Can't wait to have my holiday!!!

Band Idol 2011

My high school band organized a Band Idol competition. This band idol competition is annually organized to raise some funds for the band itself to purchase more equipments. We had 11 groups participated; 2 from St. Teresa, 2 from our own school students and the remainings were our band boys. Thanks to my friends, Sze Chau and William as well as Kenny who were willing to judge for the band idol. Really appreciate you guys who helped out. Here are the scores for preliminary round and finals.
Nicholas and Andrew were knocked out for being placed 2 last bottom spots and Philip withdrew from the competition. Top 8 competed the following night.

Congratulations to St3 who won the Band Idol 2011 competition. No doubt their group is the most entertaining group for that night. Potential players. Imagine they have a group of instructors to groom them, you'll see them performing in national level competitions too! They won by gaining the most votes for the night. 53 votes! 2nd highest vote was 28 votes which was our group of form 2 boys, playing Mad World. :D

I didn't have a break. After final exam, the very few next days, I started my internship in a Mechanical & Electrical consultant firm as an Electrical Trainee. Working for 5 days a week from 8am till 5.30pm, banding from 7pm - 9.30pm on Tuesday and Thursday, kept me moving for the week. Each day I look forward for Friday so I can have my weekend off for a good rest! I guess every working person are like that. Haha!

Not very bad at the company. We had early Christmas celebration together! :D

At night, I had a bbq + birthday celebration at Riady's place. It was a 3 in 1 birthday (Anthony, Rachel and Natalius) + Christmas celebration. Haha.

23rd October, I went for Uni for briefing and found out that we had 4 engineering teams taking part in the badminton tournament. Unfortunately not all the teams will proceed to the sports carnival. Out of the 4 teams, only 2 teams will proceed. Pre-stage was conducted on Monday, and our team, managed to proceed into the Round Robin (Preliminary Round), eliminated Emily Fong's group.

Darren played single for the pre-stage, shot some middle-eastern guy, under 5! Unfortunately our Women's Double, Delvene and Claire lost to Emily and her partner. Men's Double, Hock Keong and Paul won the next match.

Another match, Men's Double, Chin Guan and I, shot 1st set, 11-0 against another pair of middle-eastern friends. Next set, Chin Guan asked whether we should let them win and play 3rd set. LOL. I told him to win it off only. Haha! 7-0 then Chin Guan didn't managed to hit over the net, 1-7! "adui, egg pecah already" hahahaha.. Few more mistakes by both of us, lead them to 4-7 and finally we shot it all, 11-4. LOL..

We won and proceed to Preliminary Round.. :D:D

First set he lost because he was nervous. Foundation kids were so noisy, kept on mocking, made Chin Guan unhappy. 2nd and 3rd set, Chin Guan shot his opponent, under 10. lol..

Unfortunately, we short of 1 point to proceed to Semifinals, against Business A team. (blame Meng Hong! hahaha).

Finals was on Thursday night. Steven, Jeremy, Delvene and I went and watched. Best match was Men's Double from Business A (Mao Yuan and Leslie Jong) against Staff A.

We had our Annual Banquet 2010. It was the largest number of people attended the banquet throughout the past 10 years. There were many performances (singing, sketch, dances, live band) during that night, done by members themselves. It was a very enjoyable night. :D

The week after that, we had a performance at the Waterfront for the Malaysia Innovative Carnival 2010 (MI2010) Sarawak Zone, organised by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (MOSTI). I left earlier because I had a meeting for the Sports Carnival competition starting Monday.

Happy Birthday Avery!

Avery sold off his Nokia N97 mini few days before his birthday and thought of getting a HTC Legend. What happened was, many shops in Kuching said this phone is out of stock. The manufacturer for this phone has stopped producing this phone. So, at the mean time, he doesn't have a phone to use, and was borrowing Riady's phone for few days.

So, we went around Kuching to hunt for phones, planned to get him a Nokia 3310 but there's no longer this particular phone. Even 2nd hand. There's 1 shop at Tabuan Jaya that sells 2nd hand 3310 for RM 80.. @@" Another shop said that if you can find it, maybe you can buy it at RM 20. At last, we decided to get a pink, Nokia 1280 for him. No colour, no mp3, no nothing except radio and torch. HAHA..

He's doing his final year project alone. Each student has a budget of RM800 for the final year project. If you have 3 person in your group, you'll receive a maximum of RM2400 for the final year project. Poor Avery has only RM800, so we decided to give him a cheque.

Kuching Fest 2010

Last night, I went out with the same usual coursemates; Riady, Meng Hong, Steven, Lucas and Jeremy. We went to Kuching Festival Food Fair and mini Fun Fair 2010.

Ok.. this is how you play with the snooker table. A 50 cents coin is put on top of the ball. All you have to do is to hit the ball using the white one and make sure the 50 cents coin is out from the circle..

This is interesting. 1 can drink = RM 1.

There are 8 colours for you to bet. Pick one.
The first colored ping pong ball arrive at the bottom, that's the colour.

We were calculating the probability of winning. lol..
you actually lose 1/8 can when you start to bet a can of drink.
That's how, the host will always win although a little luck will help you.

That round,
HOST: ang ang bo hai lang.. (red red won't cause trouble to people)

So we counted, let's say we place 4 cans of drink, each on 1 colour, win or lose will be 50 50.
If we win one of the colour, we will lose 3 cans but gain another 6 cans. Means we gain 3 cans of drink in total. But if unlucky, we will lose 4 cans of drinks.

As a few of us calculated and discussed, (it was quite loud) we shared and bet. That round, everyone around us, followed us and bet on the same colour as we predicted, black, white, yellow and red.

Ok.. I went to KL last tuesday.. This time, not for any competitions which I used to go each time but for a HOLIDAY..

It has been a long journey last semester with studies, ROBOCON, final exam then lastly band competition.

20th

2150! 7 of us, Riady, Meng Hong, Jeremy, Steven, Lucas, Lik Ming and I flew to KL. We reached KL roughly around 2340. Lik Ming's brother, Lik Tat waited at the airport for us since he's there earlier and after that, we went to MarryBrown for supper. Trust me, that will be my last time at MarryBrown.. No more MarryBrown after this.. Mc D is much more worth it, nicer tastier, whatever you name it.. Then, we went to Taste of Asia at LCCT and play cards. BIG 2! And I fell asleep around 2++am..

21st
Woke up in the morning at 5am. At 6am, we ride SkyBus to KL Sentral. Met up with Christy at KL Sentral and off we went to Gombak. At Gombak station, we waited for 2 hours for the bus.. Here's our pictures at Gombak station.

We walked from Pasar Seni station to Petaling Street.. T-shirt from RM 48 (starting price), we managed to negotiate till RM 15. 2340! Walked wrong way, we went back to Pasar Seni station.. Walked all the way back to Maharajalela station for monorail back to Bukit Bintang, last train was 2330.. So, we sat at the station till midnight and WALKED back to Bukit Bintang. Journey from Maharajalela station to Bukit Bintang took us 45 minutes. LOL.. Went back, zzzz..

25th
Woke up and went to Sungai Wang for brunch. Met up with Christy. Transfer pictures that she wants into her pendrive. Then for dinner, we went for Sushi Zanmai.. Not bad! ^^.. After that we went to Baskin Robbins for dessert.. I went back to Bukit Bintang. Midnight, I went for a drink with Harisman and Hezrul. As usual for band freaks, we talked till 4.30am. Back to the hotel and zzzz..

26th
Woke up around 11.30am. Quickly showered and checked my mobile, Chee Wei smsed and said she needs to do her stuff and office only open at 2pm. So I went for brunch again with my coursemates at Sungai Wang. Then I went to Hospital UM to meet her. She has a car, so she brought me to Midvalley. Nothing to do so we catched a movie, KARATE KID!
Nice movie! After movie, around 1840, meet up with John and went for dinner at Dominos. The cheesy pizza is just so juicy.. YUMMY! Went to pet's world then after that went back around 10+pm.. Too tired, I fell asleep...

27th
Woke up and went for breakfast at the back of our hotel. Roti canai! Off we went to airport...

Malaysian National Marching Band Competition 2010

After exam on 2nd July, I had intensive camp coaching SJSBAND. It's worth my time being part of the team in preparing the members for the Malaysian National Marching Band Competition 2010.. We came in 1st place in Sarawak zone and 3rd place in Malaysia for the Preliminary Round Competition.

I'm very happy that my band improves a lot for drills and colorguard compared to zone level competition. In fact, our battery and colorguard are one of the best in the country. We flew to KL on 13th July and arrived back at Kuching at 16th July.

This year, we use pit percussion in our show. We're the first band to use pit percussion for national level marching band competition. No longer having static music, our show is a continuous classical jazz where the band never stops marching throughout the whole show.

Woo.. It has been quite some time I didn't update my blog.. Pretty busy with university works and band..... and my assignments are already ............. =.=" tests coming up! competitions also coming up...

Woke up early in the morning and went to pay some respect to my grandparents.. Here are some hell bank notes which I found them very interesting! Very modern, very similar to the money that we have. I think they worth more than our money too since they are all in DOLLAR.

Last week was St Joseph High School Marching Band's 1st Band camp 2010. It was awesome to have people like Gifford, Michael and Chui Ling to join us for the camp. Miles up and yeah we are going for it!

Hassan reached Kch on Monday and had pre-camp with the guards. Next day, band camp started so we had an introductory gathering session with all the staff and members. And yea, our new toys arrived in school that evening too. :D

Finally, I can have better rest.. Now. I wil, have more time for Robocon and also band. Class starting in a month time..

Now uni really sucks.. Even with 4 Distinctions, there's no longer merit scholarship 1.5k to claim from uni.. Minimum requirement = 2 High Distinctions and 2 Distinctions AND only top 35 students are eligible for it... So basically, I just lost 1.5k.. Plus, uni is going to implement parking policy..

Monday to Sunday-24 hrs hourly basis.

I had a great time teaching at SJS. I believe if every teachers really push the students, we can have more As and even 100% passes for subjects like mathematics and additional mathematics which are not subjective to score.. :D

A teacher only teaches in class, make sure the syllabus finishes on time and gets his salary at the end of the month, but a great educator changes the future and life of a student.

Sorry for didnt update my blog for a week+?

Im teaching at SJS as math teacher now. Teaching modern math for form 4 and additional mathematics for form 5. Really damn busy for this week and next week. Im also the class teacher and early of the year, fuh... I have to collect money, do the registration of the students, books on loan stuff, template for principal's database, and a lot more.. not to forget, I have to prepare to teach right?

Well, for band, again? We recruited new members..

ROBOCON? We built the field and stuff! weeee!! Im excited.. Can't wait to build those robots.. and that will be quite soon!

Day 1 (14/12/09)
we arrived at airport around 8.30am and found out that our air tickets had been cancelled. bla here and there finally, ok, we go. our team was divided into 2 groups, and i was on the first flight. so we waited at klia till around 6+pm for the 2nd group to arrive. at night, members unpacked all the instruments and distributed the uniforms to the members.. checked out my bed at the hostel and i felt like going home already.. want to shit, door cant even lock.. =.= oh well, lights off then..
Day 2 (15/12/09)
in the morning, i coached the members for parade. had stretching, basics and parade rehearsal. i got darker after that. haha.. in the afternoon, everyone slept and rest before the street parade at night. around 5pm, we shifted ourselves to pavilion for the street parade. gosh, it was a bad evening. it rained non-stop till 8.30pm? 9pm? and i got splashed by rain water =.= after a car drove pass and i was by the road side.. went back around 11pm and lights off..

Day 3 (16/12/09)

in the morning, percussion had practice with joo lung and the hornline + colorguards had music practice with me for the times square performance in the afternoon. around 11am, we stopped and had a rest + lunch till 1pm, members in uniform and off we went to times square. had our warm ups there and yea, we performed. at night, percussion had their practice due to the drum battle the following morning. the rest of the members, rest and lights off then.

Day 4 (17/12/09)

joo lung woke up and had a jump in the toilet at 5.30am. haha.. the percussion and colorguards went to times square for drum battle early in the morning. around 9am, the rest of us went and support. our team was one of the finalists. thai was the champion that morning, followed by kuala lumpur drum corps (kldc). we had fun that morning and performed at times square again that afternoon. the crowd love us!

Day 5 (18/12/09)
members woke up and started packing the instruments. then during noon, joo lung and i walked down to the stadium and watched satriwitthaya 2 rehearsing their show. later around 4pm, we walked back to the hostel and get ourselves ready for klwmbc official dinner which was held at vi school. managed to take picture with cavaliers' drill designer, michael gaines, and also other judges. the boys had fun that night. and we won 3 lucky draws.

Day 6 (19/12/09)
in the morning, joo lung and i brought the members to the stadium to watch another thai group, chonkanyanukoon rehearsing their show. their show theme this year is 'inkhart'. around 11am, cikgu darry brought the members back to the hostel but joo lung and i stayed back to watch till around 12pm. noon time, out of a sudden, it started to rain heavily.. o.O no choice we were stranded at the stadium. after a while, the rain stopped and joo lung called to meet up his aunt at pavilion. i met up with chee wei at times square. we went and walked around times square and chose nicole a shirt (i owe her haha!).. then she treated me sushi at times square (thanks!). before we left times square, i got her elmo. joo lung came and we took picture before we head to the stadium.
at the stadium we watched those good teams warming up. just love those sound. haha. well, here's the result...

Day 8 (21/12/09)
woke up early and had breakfast at the hostel. then quickly finish my packing and around 1pm, we departed to klia. i slept in the bus till the bus reached klia. so the members and i played at the airport. here are some pictures..

Ok, I had a chest pain whole night from 3am till I met this doctor, Dr. Patrick Lau.. Heart pro at Timberland. Quite a joker too.. I like that doctor...

He asked whether I'm a science student, I answered, Yes i am, and he started to explain those acid alkaline ionic ionize stuff in body... For a minute, I thought I was a medical student and I started to remember what Pn Rosni, my bio teacher said about anaerobic respiration where you have those bla bla lactic acid after running 100m like there's no tomorrow.... So, I told him, I don't know.. HAHA..

So after ECG, he wanted to have an Echocardiography on me.. First time i see my own heart and also with the beats (Signal and Image Processing HAHAHAHA). Doc said, my heart is very strong.. I heart you!... No problem with that. He thought that my heart has a hole by the look of the ECG signals processed but no my heart was ok... EH, that machine not bad... can trace where oxygen flows in the heart.. (kuno lols)..

My blood pressure was 130/90 which is a bit high.. And what's exciting was, im in the move to march as my heart beat was 108bpm. [Andante — at a walking pace (76–108 bpm)]

and so it goes, I'm in good shape now after medication which cost RM 316.. ^^, (worth it compared to some of the champalang doctors at GH and also polyclinic =p)
Oh yea, Doc said I have to eat more meat and less rice/kueh tiaw/mee.. Good sign.. Chicken Chop, Lamb Chop, PORK everyday lai lai lai.....

Last month, there was digi promotion thingy at uni. Digi promoters were like persuading students to get a new number due to the digi campus promotion thingy. The rate for digi campus number is cheap compared to the other packages; friends and family and all. So I bought a number for myself.

Call rate: 15 cents per minute to all (8 cents for the first 30 seconds)
SMS: 1 cent to digi, 6 cents to other network (2.5X cheaper than my mtv powerpack package when I have to sms Lucas and all)
Friends and Family: 11 numbers (I can have 22 numbers free sms-ing now XD)

1-2 days after that, I went and bought a phone as shown as the figure below.

Bluetooth, mp3 player, external memory card - Good enough for me.

I don't need a phone to watch movie and stuff...

When I bought it, the shop didn't provide me memory card. That's the sad thing.
3 weeks after I bought the phone, I went back to saberkas and bought my own memory card (micro sd) at a different shop which gave me lowest price for a 2GB memory. (nice enough for 500 songs)
I went home and put on the memory card myself. WHY my bloody damn NEW phone doesn't detect the memory card??? I called up the shop and talked to a girl named Tracy. She asked me to go back to the shop and she'll try. Maybe the memory card has problem. Ok~

Tested the memory card, memory card = good. So, it was my bloody damn NEW phone which caused the problem. So I went back to the shop where I bought the phone, to be specific, 1st floor of Saberkas, and told them, my phone can't read/detect memory card.

They tried and yes, my NEW phone can't detect the memory card. So the shop assistant asked me to bring it over to their technician near Crown Towers. Ok~

Monday, I went there and gave it to the technician. The technician told me, integrated circuit (IC) spoil. There's some water moisture stain there. IC burnt or short-circuit-ed, I have no idea. (NEW phone, NEVER open the casing and all) =.=""" I told her I bought a silicon cover for my phone. She said, she had a case silicon water vapour went in the phone through the keypad of the phone. Ok~ Speechless...

My old phone which age reaching 6 years old, was brought in the toilet and sms when I shit, followed me when I shower in the bathroom, marched with me under the rain; in my raincoat, for Kuala Lumpur World Marching Band Competition 2007, etc.... I can say, almost 24/7 being with me, never experience such problem regarding reading memory card.

Hell yea, I know how to spoil an IC. Both my hands dealt with ICs for few years since year 1 in uni and theories about IC for years. Not to forget, I burnt an IC in the lab before! Fingers held with electrostatic field also able to spoil IC easily. My electronics subjects in uni, I scored 4.00!

Yet, she was treating me like I don't know anything, so she can blaaaaaaaaaaaa whatever she likes. She doesn't know that she's dealing with an electrical and electronics student. =.="" Ok~

As a result, she took the phone so she can wash the board of the phone and check whether it can be solved the problem or not.

I started to wonder whether that phone really first-hand/new phone or not... o.O

She said I will be getting my NEW phone back within a week. OK~ whatever~ get it fixed!

Celebrated few birthdays past few weeks.
3rd year in Uni taking Power Electronics, Electrical Power Systems, Engineering Management 1 and Digital Signal and Image Processing. Lucky NO Mechatronics System Design. haha..
Currently Week 5 in University, and don't really know what is going on for Digital Signal and Image Processing class. Test on 23rd of September. ^___^
